Tasks help you delegate work, give clear instructions, and keep track of deadlines. This page walks you through every action on a task — from creation to closing it out.

Creating a task

  1. Go to Employees > Tasks
  2. Click Create Task in the top right of the page
  3. Fill in the form:

The assignee is chosen from your team members. Tasks can’t be assigned to fans — fans can only be linked to a task as context.
The due date uses your time zone from Settings > Preferences.

Editing a task

  1. Find the task in the table
  2. Click the pencil icon in the Actions column (or click the task row)
  3. Change any field, including the Status
  4. Click Save
The status field appears only in edit mode — new tasks always start as Pending.

Changing status and priority inline

You don’t have to open the edit modal to change status or priority. In the table:
  • Click the status badge to pick a different status from a dropdown
  • Click the priority badge to pick a different priority
Changes apply instantly.
Once you set a task to Cancelled, you can’t change its status again. Make sure you really want to cancel the task before picking that status.

Comments

Every task has a comments thread. Open a task to add or read comments.
  • Each comment can be up to 5000 characters
  • Comments appear in the order they were posted
  • The comment count in the table updates as the thread grows
  • The task author and assignee get a notification when a new comment appears
Use comments to ask clarifying questions, report progress, or share links to related materials. This keeps all context on the task itself — no need to hunt through chats.

Copying a task

If you need to create a similar task, use the Copy action instead of typing everything again.
  1. Find the task in the table
  2. Click the copy icon in the Actions column
  3. The Create Task modal opens pre-filled with the original task’s data
  4. Change whatever is different
  5. Click Save
The new task starts fresh — it doesn’t carry over comments or the status of the original.

Deleting a task

  1. Find the task in the table
  2. Click the trash icon in the Actions column
  3. Confirm the deletion
Deletion is permanent. Use the Cancelled status instead if you want to keep the task visible as a record.

Live updates

Tasks update live across all open pages. When a teammate changes a status, adds a comment, or creates a new task, you see the change immediately — no need to refresh the page.

Notifications

You get notified when:
  • Someone assigns a task to you
  • A task you created or were assigned to gets updated
  • Someone posts a comment on a task you created or were assigned to

Available for Team Leaders and above with Tasks permissions. Your admin configures the scope — whether you see only your own tasks, your subordinates’ tasks, or everyone’s.
