Introduction
Auto-Update keeps your AgencyKey desktop application on the latest version. You decide when to download the update and when to install it — nothing happens without your confirmation. Auto-Update is available only in the desktop application (not the web version). Benefits:- Always have the latest features and improvements
- Security patches applied on your schedule
- You control when to download and when to install
How auto-update works
Automatic checking
The application checks for updates automatically:- At startup — a few seconds after the application launches
- Periodically — every 10 minutes while the app is running
- Manually — any time from the App menu
1. Update Available
When a new version is found, the Update Available dialog appears:- Title: Update Available
- Message: shows the new version number
- Buttons: Download / Cancel
Nothing downloads until you click Download. You stay in control.
2. Download progress in the App menu
While the update downloads, progress is shown live in the App menu at the top of the window. The percentage refreshes as the download runs, so you can check progress any time without opening a dialog. You can keep working normally during the download.3. Update Ready
When the download finishes, the Update Ready dialog appears:- Title: Update Ready
- Message: confirms the new version has been downloaded
- Buttons: Install Now / Install Later
| Choice | What happens |
|---|---|
| Install Now | The app closes and restarts on the new version |
| Install Later | The update is held. It installs automatically the next time you quit the app, or immediately if you choose Install Update from the App menu |
macOS indicators
- The Dock icon bounces and shows an Update badge only once the update is downloaded and ready to install — not during download. This way, a bounce always means “ready to install now”.
Manual update check
You can check for updates any time:- Open the App menu at the top
- Click Check for Updates
- You’ll see one of these results:
- Update Available — with version number and the Download button
- No Updates — “You are using the latest version”
Tamper protection
Your AgencyKey desktop app is protected against file tampering. Every time you launch the app, it verifies its own files. If someone has modified or replaced the installed files, the app refuses to start and your operating system will show a standard “app is damaged” message. This protection is completely invisible on trusted installs — the app launches exactly as before. You don’t need to do anything to enable it.macOS Tahoe (macOS 26) support
AgencyKey fully supports macOS 26 (Tahoe). If you’re running macOS 26, make sure you’re on the latest desktop version — earlier builds had a launch issue on Tahoe that is fixed in the current release. Updating via the normal Auto-Update flow will bring you to a compatible version.Per-device error reporting
When something goes wrong in the desktop app, error details are automatically linked to your device and your account. This means when you contact support, our team can find your exact error log instantly — no more “send us a screenshot” or “what time did this happen?”. Faster answers, less back-and-forth. There’s nothing to set up — it works out of the box.Network Logs menu
The App menu item previously called Proxy Logs has been renamed to Network Logs. It works the same way and opens today’s network log file in your default text editor. The new name better reflects what the log covers (not just HTTP proxies). Full details about using network logs live in the proxies section of this documentation. What gets updated
