The Chat Summary tab lives in the Chat Context panel on the right side of an open chat, next to Notes and AI Recon. It produces a compact AI summary of the conversation so you can catch up on any fan in seconds.

What you can do here

  • Generate an on-demand summary of the active chat
  • Auto-generate a fresh summary every time you open a chat (optional)
  • Control how many messages the AI looks at (up to 500)
  • Choose how long the summary is — Brief, Medium, or Detailed
  • Add your own instructions that are appended after the agency prompt
  • Read formatted output with headings, bold text, and bullet lists

Opening the tab

  1. Open any chat.
  2. In the Chat Context panel on the right, click the Chat Summary tab.
  3. Click Summarize Chat to generate the first summary, or wait for auto-generation (if enabled).
The previous summary is restored automatically when you reopen the chat.

Settings

Click the gear icon next to the Summarize Chat button to open the settings popover. Changes save automatically when you close it.
SettingWhat it does
Auto-generate on chat openWhen enabled, a new summary is produced automatically every time you open the chat (subject to the threshold below).
Minimum new messagesOnly auto-generate when this many new messages have arrived since the last summary. Visible when auto-generate is on. Range 1 – 500.
Messages to analyzeHow many recent messages the AI reads. Range 1 – 500.
Result lengthChoose Brief, Medium, or Detailed.
PromptCustom instructions appended to the agency prompt — for example, “always note any scheduling requests”.

Result length options

LengthWhat you get
Brief2–3 sentences with only the key points.
MediumOne paragraph with context. Default.
DetailedFull analysis with headings, bullets, and all the details.
Start with Medium — it gives enough context for most chats without being overwhelming. Switch to Detailed for high-value fans or long chat histories.

Output format

Summaries are rendered as formatted markdown:
  • Bold for emphasis
  • Bullet lists and numbered lists
  • Headings (in Detailed mode)
  • Clickable links
The fan’s notes are automatically passed to the AI as additional context, so the summary reflects anything you’ve already recorded about this fan.

Language and translation

Summaries are always generated in English. To read them in your language, enable the Translate toggle in the chat header — the summary is translated automatically into the same language as your incoming messages and updates whenever you change the target language.
You don’t need to configure translation separately for summaries. The chat’s Translate toggle controls both messages and AI output.

Regenerate and refresh

  • Click Summarize Chat at any time to produce a new summary with the current settings.
  • If you change settings (for example, switch from Brief to Detailed), generate again to see the effect.
  • The result is cached per chat, so switching chats won’t lose previous summaries.

Permissions

ActionRequired permission
See the Chat Summary tab and read previous summariesView chat summary
Click Summarize Chat and edit settingsGenerate chat summary
Your admin configures these permissions in the Roles section. Without View chat summary the tab does not appear in the panel at all.

Tips

  • Turn on Auto-generate on chat open with a high threshold (for example, 20 new messages) so fresh summaries only appear for chats that actually changed.
  • Use the Prompt field to focus the AI on what matters to your team — selling patterns, emotional tone, scheduling requests, and so on.
  • If a summary feels off, raise the Messages to analyze count so the AI sees more history.
