OnlyFans subscriber lists: how to set up Smart Lists in AgencyKey

AgencyKey17 min read

A Smart List in AgencyKey groups your OnlyFans fans by rules such as how much they have spent, when they last messaged, or how long it has been since they paid. Membership changes when the list is recalculated from updated data.

Grouping fans this way is called fan segmentation.

Jump to a task: create a list · check the audience · pin it in chats · use it in a campaign · check OnlyFans sync · troubleshoot a list.

The approaches below are used across several agencies. Names, amounts, and time windows are examples created for this guide; they do not reveal any agency's individual setup.

How Smart Lists differ from manual lists

In a manual list, you choose whom to add or remove. In a Smart List, you save selection rules—for example, total spending of $100 or more—and AgencyKey finds the fans who match them using the data it has collected.

Use a manual list when you want the team to choose each member individually. Use a Smart List when you need to keep finding fans who meet the same criteria.

What you can use Smart Lists for

Agencies commonly group fans by spending, chat activity, and subscription status. Each of these tells you something different.

What you want to doFilters to use
Group fans by how much they have paidA lower or upper limit on total spending
Find fans who paid recentlySpending within a recent time window
Follow up with past buyers who have stopped spendingTotal spending above zero, combined with no recent spending
Find fans who are active in chatNumber of messages from the fan and time since their last message
Contact a particular group of subscribersSubscription status, time since the first subscription, or time since expiry

The list determines who belongs in the group. Your team still decides what to offer and how to handle the conversation. The same group can be useful for individual chats or a relevant message campaign.

How to create a Smart List for your OnlyFans fans

Go to Automation → Fan Lists, select a Creator, and open the Smart List tab. Each list belongs to one creator: spending and chat filters use that creator's data.

Smart Lists for the selected creator in AgencyKey

The table shows each list's filters, audience count, and OnlyFans sync status.

Let's create Buyers $100+ to find fans whose total spending has reached $100.

  1. Click Create Smart List.
  2. Enter the name in Smart List Name.
  3. Under Spending, turn on Spent. Enter 100 in from and leave to blank.
  4. Select Fans for this filter.
  5. Check the audience count, then click Create.

Creating a Smart List with a minimum spending amount

Example: total spending of at least $100, no upper limit, and Fans selected.

After saving, the list appears in the table. Check the selected creator and the filter summary: it should show spending of at least $100 and the Fans audience. If you need the list for a campaign, you can go straight to choosing recipients.

A blank upper limit means there is no cap. To select fans with a recorded spending total of zero, set the upper limit to 0. Leaving both fields blank does not filter for zero spending.

Spending means payments to the selected creator before OnlyFans deducts its fee. It does not include money spent with other creators. Refunded payments remain in this total; refunds are tracked separately.

How to combine filters

Create a second list named Buyers who messaged recently. Use the same Spent filter with a minimum of $100 and the Fans audience. Under Chat, turn on Wrote in the last, set it to 7 days, and select Fans for this filter too.

Fans must now meet both conditions: total spending of at least $100 and a message sent within the last seven days.

Adding a recent fan-message filter to the spending filter

Both filters apply to Fans: spending of at least $100 and a message within seven days. In this example, 42 accounts qualify.

Here is how those rules apply to three example fans:

Example fanIncluded?
A: spent $140, messaged 2 days agoYes. Both conditions match
B: spent $140, messaged 12 days agoNo. The message is older than 7 days
C: spent $60, messaged yesterdayNo. Spending is below $100

Check the audience, then save the new list with Create. The first list still includes all buyers who have spent at least $100; the second includes only those who have messaged recently.

If you need all buyers, leave out the message filter: it would exclude some of them. Add it when you specifically need recent correspondents.

Fans and Following

Spending and chat filters let you choose which audience they apply to:

  • Fans: the selected creator's fan audience known to AgencyKey.
  • Following: accounts the creator follows.

For a typical campaign to fans, start with Fans. Check the audience setting on every filter you enable. Subscription filters apply to Fans only.

If you use both audiences, AgencyKey checks the rules separately for each one, then combines the matching accounts. For example, suppose you apply:

  • Spent of at least $100 to Fans only;
  • Wrote in the last, set to 7 days, to Following only.

The list will contain two groups: fans who have spent at least $100, and accounts the creator follows that have messaged recently. The message rule will not narrow the first group; the spending rule will not narrow the second. Check the filter summary and audience count before saving.

Fans can include former subscribers. Add Active if you only want people with a current subscription.

Total spending and recent spending

Spent with a minimum of $100 checks the fan's total spending. Spent in the last with a 30-day window checks whether they made a recent payment. Together, they select fans who have spent at least $100 overall and paid within the last 30 days.

For example, a fan paid $120 60 days before the calculation and another $5 yesterday. They qualify: their total is $125, and they have a recent payment. They spent only $5 in the last 30 days. These filters do not require $100 of spending during that period.

To find past buyers who have stopped spending, combine total spending above zero with Hasn't spent in the last and your chosen time window. The latter condition on its own can also include fans who have never paid.

Recent time windows move with the current date. A payment will eventually fall outside a 30-day window even if the fan does nothing else.

How to read chat and subscription filters

Messages from the fan and the creator

Fan messages and creator messages are separate signals. If someone on your team wrote yesterday, that does not mean the fan replied recently.

Use fan-message filters to look for replies. Use the creator-message filters when you need to know whether your team has contacted someone.

A “hasn't written recently” filter can include people who have never sent a message. To include only fans who have messaged before, also require at least one message from the fan: turn on Wrote and set from to 1.

The Model sent filter counts paid messages (PPVs) sent to the fan, whether or not they bought them. Personal messages count by default. The Regular and Priority checkboxes let you include PPVs sent through those mailing types as well.

Active and expired subscribers

Filtering fans by subscription status and time since expiry

This example selects Expired subscriptions that ended 1–7 days ago. Active is off, so current subscribers are excluded.

StatusWho it selects
ActiveFans with a current subscription
ExpiredFans whose subscription has ended

Selecting both statuses includes both groups. To work only with former subscribers, select Expired and, if needed, set how long ago the subscription ended.

Subscribed for uses the first subscription date recorded in the data. It does not necessarily mean the length of the current uninterrupted subscription.

How to check the audience

The builder shows In list X of Y at the bottom. X is the number of matching accounts; Y is the number available in the selected audiences. The calculation uses data AgencyKey has already collected.

If the count is unexpectedly low, turn off the filters you added one at a time to see which one narrows the list. If unwanted accounts are included, check each filter's audience, range limits, and subscription statuses.

The preview reflects the data at the time of calculation. A fan can later pay, send a message, or let their subscription expire. Their membership may change the next time the list is calculated. AgencyKey must also receive the new data before it can use it.

Open and pin a Smart List in chats

You can open Buyers $100+ directly above the chat list. This gives chatters a way to find that group without searching through the rest of their conversations.

The screenshots below show the AgencyKey desktop app. Fan names and list names have been changed, and photos have been blurred.

  1. Open Chats for the creator, then click the arrow above the chat list to open the list menu.
  2. Find Buyers $100+ under Smart Lists.
  3. To keep it in the tabs above your chats, click the pin to the right of its name. The button's tooltip reads Pin Buyers $100+.
The original list has an AgencyKey label. Its copy appears separately under Smart List copies. Pin the source you want to use.

Pinning adds a tab; it does not select the list. Click the new Buyers $100+ tab to open that group. To open a list without pinning it, click its name in the menu. A checkmark identifies the selected list.

Original Smart Lists have blue tabs. The line below the tabs shows the selected list's name and its AgencyKey label.

The group is now one click away above the chats. You can use this same Smart List in a campaign without creating another list for chatters.

Original Smart List pins are shared across the creator's team. Team members with access to the creator and lists can see them. To remove a tab, click its pin again in the menu. This keeps the list and its rules. If the pin button is missing, ask the team lead to check the Pin and unpin Smart Lists permission.

Membership follows the rules and data available in AgencyKey. Fans load as you scroll, including those who are not yet in the regular chat feed. The member count in the menu may differ from the number of visible rows: hide filters and the selected Inbox also affect the chat list. Individually pinned conversations may stay at the top even when those fans do not belong to the selected Smart List.

Tell a Smart List apart from its OnlyFans copy

Two entries can share a name but use different sources. Check the section and label:

Source in the chat menuWhere membership comes fromWhen to use it
Smart Lists, labeled AgencyKeyThe rules and current data in AgencyKey, without waiting for the copy to syncWhen you want fans who match saved rules, such as buyers who spent $100 or more
Smart List copies, labeled OnlyFans copyThe linked OnlyFans list, updated by syncWhen you need the membership already exported to OnlyFans
Other OnlyFans lists, labeled OnlyFansA regular list stored on OnlyFansWhen the team chooses members individually, as with a Do not send list

The original Smart List works without sync. Its copy is created when you enable sync and may lag behind while an update is running. If you turn sync off, the copy remains but stops following changes to the Smart List. See how to check sync status below.

You can pin the original and its copy separately, including both at once. Since their names can match, use the source labels to tell them apart.

Select Smart Lists in a campaign

Pinning a list in chats does not add it to a campaign. Choose recipients and exclusions in the campaign itself.

In the campaign settings, open Send To → Recipients → Smart Lists and select Buyers $100+.

To exclude fans who messaged recently, first create Buyers who messaged recently using the steps in How to combine filters. Then open Smart Lists under Do not send and select that list.

Selecting Smart Lists as campaign recipients and exclusions

Recipients: Buyers $100+. Exclusion: Buyers who messaged recently. Exclusions take priority.

In this example, the audience includes buyers who have spent at least $100 and are not in the second list. Your team might use this setup if it wants to handle recent correspondents through individual conversations instead.

If you include several lists, a fan only needs to belong to one of them. The campaign's other conditions and exclusions still apply, so its recipient count may differ from the Smart List preview.

For event-triggered campaigns, use Smart Lists with Fans as their only audience. Lists that include Following are not supported for these campaigns.

You can select a Smart List directly in a campaign even when OnlyFans sync is off. AgencyKey then selects recipients using the list's filters and the data it has available. If you choose its synced copy under OnlyFans lists, the campaign uses that copy's membership, which depends on the latest sync.

For recipient selection, exclusions, and protecting active conversations, see the automated messaging guide.

How to sync a Smart List with OnlyFans

A Smart List in AgencyKey and its linked list on OnlyFans are separate objects. Turn on Sync to OF if you need to keep a corresponding list on OnlyFans.

Rules in AgencyKey → audience calculation → background sync, if enabled → linked list on OnlyFans.

Smart List sync switches and confirmed export counts

Sync is enabled, but only 40 of 42 accounts are confirmed. The tooltip shows that two accounts could not be added. The switch alone does not confirm a complete export.

On the first sync, AgencyKey creates a linked OnlyFans list and updates its members. If you turn sync off, the OnlyFans list keeps its current members but stops following changes to the Smart List.

⚠️

Turning sync back on queues another update to bring the linked list in line with the current filters. Manual changes to its membership on OnlyFans may be overwritten during that update.

How long does syncing take?

Sync runs in the background. Enabling it or saving new filters for a synced list queues a full check.

What triggers a checkWhen it runs
AgencyKey receives a purchase, subscription, new-fan or chat activity eventThat fan is usually checked after about 30 seconds
The list has time-based conditionsA full check every 15 minutes
The list has OnlyFans sync enabledA control check every hour

These intervals describe when checks start. Queue processing, the creator's connection, and OnlyFans limits affect when an update finishes. After changing filters, wait for a confirmed export result.

In Exported to OF, compare the confirmed member count with the calculated audience. Full check shows when AgencyKey calculated the audience for the last confirmed check of the entire list. Individual fans may be updated later without changing that time.

If the export is incomplete

Read the status beside the export count. A queued update or an error does not confirm that the OnlyFans list matches the current Smart List.

A linked OnlyFans list has a limit of 10,000 fans. The Smart List can match more accounts in AgencyKey, but only part of that audience will reach the linked list. Check the exported and calculated counts. If you need the whole list to sync, use the filters to bring its audience within the limit, then wait for another sync.

If AgencyKey reports a list-name conflict, rename the Smart List and try enabling sync again. Matching names alone do not link two existing lists.

How to edit and copy Smart Lists

Editing a Smart List changes its selection rules. This can affect campaigns that use it and, when sync is enabled, the linked OnlyFans list. Check the Mailings column first. If the editor blocks a change, click View linked campaigns to see which campaigns use the list.

Use Copy Smart Lists to reuse the settings for another creator. The settings are copied; the audience is calculated from the new creator's data.

If the destination creator already has a list with that name, AgencyKey does not create a copy. The existing list stays unchanged.

A new copy does not inherit the original OnlyFans link, and sync must be enabled separately.

When deleting a synced Smart List, choose whether to delete its OnlyFans list too or keep it without further syncing.

Create a Smart List with the AI assistant

AgencyKey's AI assistant can explain the filters and create a Smart List for you. Click AI to open AI agent, then select AgencyKey AI. You need access to the AI agent and permission to manage lists.

Replace @username with the creator's username and send this request:

Find the creator @username and create a Smart List named “Buyers $100+”.

Audience: Fans only. Filter: total spending of at least $100, with no upper limit. Do not add any other filters.

Save it in AgencyKey with OnlyFans sync turned off. Do not create or send a message campaign. Show me the creator and the saved filters.

If that creator already has a list with this name, tell me and leave the existing list unchanged.

Check the creator and filters in your request. Once the list is created, open it and check the audience preview. Creating a Smart List does not send messages to fans.
